June 2017 Bluff City, Tennessee Rally
.

Here is a photo from my truck with part of our caravan as we travel to Bluff City, TN
.
.

We arrive at our destination on Thursday, June 8 as planned.
Lakeview RV Park, 4550 Highway 11 E, Bluff City, TN.  <=Click for the web site.
.

Here we all are, finally all set up in our group's section of the RV park. We are in the section closest to the river (formerly a lake until the dam was decommissioned).
.

So, at one of our dinners, we chose "FATZ Cafe" where our president, Wayne Barth and his co-conspirator,
Larry Kurkowski ordered endless ribs. The waitress could see the problem this could create, so she outfitted them both
with a "super bib".
.

This is Larry's "super bib". He wears it proudly as they both await their first rack of ribs.

The view from our camp site of the "Lake".
.

And here they both are, working their way through their 3d order of endless ribs.
.

This was our view of the lake in 2011 before the dam failed and they let the water down.
.

The "Tri-Cities FLEA MARKET" opened on Saturday around 6:00 AM. (I wasn't there that early).
About 4 levels of parking and shopping. They had some great food too! Open Saturday and Sunday.
.

Here is a view as we shopped the upper level of the flea market.

.

Our rally allows us to choose what we do. Sometimes some of us will strike out on our own for a while.
Here, Sandy and I headed into town where we had heard about great local restaurant.
.

Well, we found the restaurant. It wasn't all that hard, as it looks like Bluff City is about 1 street wide. When we
arrived at around 1:15 pm for lunch, the restaurant was still packed, and we had to wait for a short while to be seated.
.

I ordered a "small" cheese burger and a cup of soup. They offer a large burger also! I probably couldn't
handle the large one. Sandy ordered chicken salad.
.
.

Everything that they serve is home made right there in their kitchen. They had a large selection of deserts.
Lemon Meringue pie was something I had to try. Sandy wanted one also. It tasted as good as my mother
used to make, and she made the BEST.
.

By the time we were finished eating, the restaurant was beginning to empty out. They were getting ready for the supper
crowd. The food was GREAT and the prices were very reasonable. They start cooking your food when you order it, so you
need to allow a little time for your meal. If we rally in Bluff City again (and we will), Sandy & I will be back to this spot!
.

On our way out of town, we stopped briefly at the city park. It is very nice.
They had nice picnic tables and play areas for the families.
.
.

We didn't always eat out. Here our rally was gathering together as we began to prepare for a hot dog supper.
.

Here is another view of our group before supper.
.

On a couple of nights, Alfred and Erna Akers, our vice-President, provided a very nice campfire for us.
.
.

Sadly, all rallies must come to an end. Here we see Pete (& Wilma) preparing to pull out.
Larry Kurkowski is doing the same in his orange shirt.
.

Here we go, back up the Interstate as we head back home from another great Appalachian 115, Region 4 rally.
.

We might point out to Wayne (our president and wagon master) that the map refers to "Exit 69" off of I-81. (I'm just sayin'...)
